CAOYAN, SUAL, PANGASINAN – The non-stop green thumb of MISTAH Foundation’s founder, CDR RICHARD T GUBATAN SR (PN) (Res) led to another tree planting project in the Municipality of Sual, Pangasinan. The project entitled “Save a Tree, Plant Trees” was held on the 26th of June 2021.
Hand-in-hand with the staffs of the Philippine National Police (PNP) of Sual, Pangasinan, Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) Alaminos, Pangasinan, GNBII Sual and Aguilar Chapter and civilian volunteers they trekked the steep mountains of Caoayoan, Sual, Pangasinan.
The area was treacherous to climb was a thirty to forty-five (30-45) minute hike uphill. Because of this, the group had to split themselves into four (4) groups. Six (6) persons each day were in charge to trek the mountains and bring a batch of seedlings uphill. It took the team four (4) days to finish the task at hand.
CDR GUBATAN, personally made sure that each batch had proper meals before, during and after their hikes. In total, two thousand five hundred (2500) seedlings of Chinese Acacia and Mahogany was transported by foot and planted by the team of seventy (70) participants.
After the exhausting 4-day project the team celebrated their success trough their traditional boodle fight prepared by the staff of MISTAH Foundation.
