The men and women of Mistah Foundation gathered along shorelines to organize a coastal cleanup campaign. They were joined by the officers and personnel of Maritime Police of Dagupan City as well as representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Bonuan, the Maharlikan Tigers International Fraternity and Sorority, the Calasiao Air Shooters Association, and Barangay Officials of Bonuan.

The Cleanup operation were held at Barangay Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Dagupan City is surrounded by bodies of water and many Dagupeno live on fishing and other related fishing-related activities. It is then the duty of people living in Dagupan to keep coastal areas clean to maintain the ecosystem in these waters and sustain a healthy aquatic environment.

More than hundred individuals participated in the event.

Morning prayer kicked off the cleanup operation. But before the drive campaign began, you could see the joy and smile on the faces of all volunteers as they shared their experiences as volunteers in various Mistah Foundation programs and events.

Mistah headed by Richard T. Gubatan, urged the attendees to make coastal cleanup a practice. Keeping the environment clean should not only be done as part of event such as this Coastal cleanup, but should be part of lifestyle, Participants collected trash and debris, including plastics caps, bottles, sachets of product packaging, Styrofoam materials, driftwoods, and assorted metal.

“This initiative will help make our coastal area Bonuan better so that tourists and visitors will see the beauty of it and also we need to do these to discourage people from throwing trash on the coastal area”, a volunteer said.

Throughout the day of the clean-up drive, all of the volunteers appear to be happy because another program was successful, and another environment was cleaned.

The activity is part of the community service initiatives of The Mistah Foundation for the betterment of lives of Filipino people.
