If there’s a perfect way to do on a rainy season like this, it has got to be planting. Your own vegetable garden in your backyard, shrubs and bushes along your fences, starting your own bonsai collection or orchidarium and of course, planting a tree somewhere out there, randomly.
Getting yourself into this hobby could only generate positive results. Anyone can do it. Young and old, male or female, students in a group activity, young professionals on a corporate retreat, friends on an out of town vacation or even a family on a weekend outdoor getaway. Yes we can. Nature is good for all of us. Spending some time to experience tranquility and a firsthand encounter with Mother Earth gives us insights what benefits we get from the environment and a closer look what is happening around us.
Realization will hit us for sure. That whatever we do and things we dont do to preserve and protect our planet will reflect sooner or later. Nature always takes it course. That is her way of restoring balance in this world. All life depends on her resources, from the water that flows to the air we breathe, the fruits, crops and the meat we consume, all of God’s grace goes through her. Humanity, mankind that’s us, are just stewards of this blessings. We can make use of them as long as we do not fail to do our end of the bargain which is ensuring the next generations that will come after our stay here will still be able to enjoy what we’re blessed with. That is our moral obligation to them and a self imposed vow to this world.
June 25th is an eventful day for Mistah Foundation. We were joined by our good friends from the Navy Reservist Bonuan Dagupan City, the PNP Aguilar and the CENRO-DENR in Dagupan. Our own little way to contribute into the rehabilitation program of our country was on full swing in a selected location in Barangay Mapita in Aguilar, Pangasinan. Complete strangers to one another at first then eventually turned into fellow nature lovers. That’s what these activities do to us. It makes wonders and start spontaneous efforts for the common good of others.
Imagine. Those 12-inch plants will grow into big pillars of abundance as high as a 5-storey building, providing shade under the scorching heat and home to birds and animals that will find shelter to it. That will be years from now. But planting them should start now. Change has come. And it is happening.
