On the 12th of May 2021, MISTAH Foundation headed by CDR RICHARD T GUBATAN SR (PN) (Res) partnered with the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) personnel led by PMAJ ARTURO DC MELCHOR, AUC/PIO together with PLT LEAH C. NOBLE under the leadership of PCOL RONALD V GAYO, PD Pangasinan together with PMAJ LIZ ANN SUGCAN, Crime Laboratory-MPD, NUPAI Pangasinan Chapter and Aguilar Philippine National Police (PNP) celebrated Mother’s Day through the power of giving, this is in relation to Pulis at Komunidad as One: BARANGAYanihan Project of the PNP held in Mapita, Brgy. Laoag, Aguilar, Pangasinan.
MISTAH’s mission in serving the local Filipino nation this past and current year is continuously prevalent throughout the country. This year, as a tribute and show of gratitude to the sacrifices of some “ilaw ng tahanan” in our community, the foundation and it’s partners prepared presents for one hundred (100) mothers from a tribal group located in Mapita, Brgy. Laoag, Aguilar, Pangasinan.
These mothers were especially hand-picked because of their exceptional and unyielding sacrifices as a woman. Most women in this group were single parents, and some had experienced domestic violence in the past.
The team prepared a pail full of daily necessities for each mother, such as, vitamins, rice, coffee, canned goods, noodles, hygiene kits and blankets. The beneficiaries and benefactors all gathered at noontime, observed proper physical distancing and health protocols. In addition to that, the team also gave out face masks and snacks for each recipient.
Smiles and elated giggles were heard all throughout the event, no sense of sadness can be seen in each mother’s eyes. Truly, the strength of a mother is second to none.
