The MISTAH Foundation works to promote and uphold the values of camaraderie, servant-leadership and nation-building through its network of military, police, other public safety workers, in collaboration with their friends and supporters in the Philippines and abroad.
Due to its mission, the MISTAH Foundation extended help to different units in different ways. One of an example is the needs of base for the expansion of the Naval Forces, Philippine Navy in the event of war, invasion or rebellion; to assist in relief and rescue during disasters or calamities; to assists in socio-economic development, and to assist in the operational and maintenance of essential government or private utilities in the furtherance of overall mission of the Naval Forces Reserve West.
With this, RICHARD T GUBATAN President MISTAH Foundation coordinated to the Municipal Mayor of Coron named Hon. Ajerico S Barracoso for his concern about the possible naval base for the reservists. He also tackled the proposed Basic Citizens Military Training (BCMT) Info Drive/Recruitment and the school outreach activity. He also explained how important the project is and also its help not only for the reservists but also for the local community. After everything has been discussed, Hon. Ajerico S Barracoso agrees on the proposal and called his Municipal Assessor, DENR personnel to give us a land area that will serve as a Training Camp of the Navy Reserve. As a proposal, the LGU gives 33 hectares Land Area located at Bgy. Decalachao near Busuanga Airport and Marines Detachment.
For the legalization of the said proposal, the team conducts coordination program last March 10, 2017 between Coron LGU and MISTAH Foundation about the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement, follow-up the documents of BCMT Participants and confirmation of the provincial LGU to the office space with an estimated floor area of 50 Sqm at the Coron Tourism Building. Right after the lunch, the team coordinates to Attorney ALBERT GARAEZ concerning MOA preparation of (33 has.) of parcel of land located in Barangay Decalachao Coron, Palawan
NFRW personnel coordinated with Mr Alfred Lopez of Busuanga Pasture Reserve Project Management Office for the intension of being witness on the said Memorandum of Agreement. President RICHARD T GUBATAN together with the team proceeds to the Municipal Hall to join the regular Monday Colors. The LGU, PNP, BFP, PNP Maritime, Coastguard, CENRO and DENR also joined the Monday Clors. LCDR VLADHIMYR A LAWAS PN, Commanding Officer, NRCenWest gives a talk and it was all about the essence and benefits of joining the Reserve Force of Philippine Navy. He did a good speech that emphasizes on how the Reserve force training changes one’s life. He also explained how a certain individual who joined the said team becomes responsible, goal – oriented and productive citizen of the state. He gives emphasis also about the essence of Memorandum of Agreement and its help to the unit and to all the reservists on the area.
Since everything about the proposal is properly settled, the naval base at the said area will be constructed by the coordination of all Municipal sectors and reservists. The said naval base will also help to strengthen the bond between the NRC Personnel, Reservists, Local Government, NGO of Coron, and other populace within AOR as well as enhance the good image of the Philippine Navy in the community as a whole.
Due to the exemplary and remarkable action displayed by President RICHARD T GUBATAN, the Naval Forces Reserve West will now be able to further extend their mission to the area by adding more reservists that will help and support the advocacies of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in promoting peace and harmony in all areas of our country.
