As our planet takes its annual turn moving closer to the sun, temperature changes reaching the warmest it can possibly get. Being a tropical country, we experience head-on effects of it. In fact, the highest temperature for 2015 by far was recorded in Cagayan last March 15 with temperatures peaking up to 34.5 degress Celsius during 2pm according to PAGASA.
Summertime is here, no question. And the summer breeze will be definitely toasting so we better brace for it.
But despite the unforgiving, excruciating heat under the burning sun, we still have the responsibility & utmost obligation to come out and contribute to environmental awareness, the green programs and at least minimize if couldn’t eradicate our own share of carbon footprints. We need to do something.
Just right after the Holy Week observance, Mistah Foundation took part in a meaningful Tree Planting Activity in partnership with the Youth of Gospel of Christ Fellowship Incorporated in Sitio Talakitik, Brgy. Caoayan, Sual, Pangasinan. Over 300 seedlings of tree varieties were distributed, properly planted and will be taken care of from now on during the 3-day stretch of giving back to Mother Earth. We send our gratitude to Pastor Randy Cabarles and his congregation members who have participated in the activity and supported this environmental program last April 6-8.
Although its just a simple way of showing appreciation to the beauty of our nature, it still is a giant step to the right direction in preserving our planet and protecting its welfare and well-being.
After-all, we didn’t inherit this from our ancestors; we’re borrowing it from our children..
